Planting a rosebush this morning proved to be solace  for an aching heart and a broken body. (Both temporary conditions, I certainly do hope!)

Tim Porges, my friend from way back in Grinnell College days, brought me two Madagascar palms several years ago when he drove up to Ohio from Virginia for a visit. I haven’t managed to kill them off, I’m happy to say!
